Continuing from yesterday...

I decided to go find dinner in the downtown area of Halifax. The downtown really impressed me. It basically has a quite high point (the citadel), from which one descends straight down, at what feels like a 45 degree angle, all the way down to the harbour. The downtown area is basically all on this slope. Quite cool. Wondering about, I come to Chives, a restaurant I had seen on FoodTV's Opening Soon. I thought, what the hell, and went in. I've never been to a nice restaurant by myself, but it wasn't too bad. The restaurant was superb. Great ambiance, weird decorations, excellent food. I had grilled halibut with seared scallops. I also tried the chef-recommended german wheat beer, Schneider-Weisse, which was very nice also. Very different too - I've never had wheat beer before. Speaking of chefs, I saw the two main chefs as they wandered the dining floor. This only added to the weirdness of the visit (having seen Ricky earlier), since I had also seen these two chefs on the show. Following my meal I headed to the harbourfront. It was vastly superior to TO's, as it is easily accessible, nice-looking, and overall very pleasant. Sitting on a bench by the water was a great way to end the day - all I lacked was M sitting /w me.
