I love microbreweries. They're like the greatest things to happen to liquid. I was happy enough with Waterloo having one (Brick) but Halifax has, like two! (That I know of). I like them so much because the beer at microbreweries is always different and interesting. I didn't know how different beer could be until I had Waterloo Dark. I mean, if all you drink is the major beers (Canadian, Moosehead, Blue, even Keith's) they're all basically variations on the same thing: and like anything else mass-produced, it's a pretty bland taste. No wonder more people don't like beer! (Lots of people drink it, but not many people actually like it, or so they say).
Last time, I bought Propeller's Honey Wheat Beer. Kickin'! An actually real honey taste, unlike, say Sleeman's Honey Brown. Before that, I tried Garrison's Irish Red, which was real good, except it went kind of weird after a bit. And today I got Propeller's Ginger Beer, which they make with ginseng. Kick ass. Oh, next time, maybe I'll get Garrison's Jalepeno Ale (try getting that from Labatt's).
