Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. So, I left school today after seeing that Giggs had scored vs. Fenerbahce in the 7th minute. Good start, I thought. I wonder how Rooney's doing, I also thought: it was his debut for United. Well, I got back, loaded up the match tracker, and saw United 4 Fenerbahce 2. Sweet! Then I looked over to see who scored. What did I see? Rooney 55, Rooney 28, Rooney 19. I thought it was a friggin' mistake, like the text had got repeated three times. Nope. He scored a hat-trick.
United went on to win 6-2, which is awesome, but how incredible is Rooney? He's 18 years old. He hasn't played for 3 months with a broken foot. He's never played a single game with United. He's never played in the Champions League before. His goals weren't chip-ins either: beats the keeper 1-1, 20-yard shot, and a free kick. A free kick!
Oh my.
