So get this: I make a word document in the latest word version. It's 29kb. If I save it as a Word 6.0 document, it's size is 15kb. What the hell does Microsoft do with that extra 14k??
In (not-so) other news, I think I'm going to start using LaTeX for word processing. The hassle of trying to transfer word documents from computer to computer is just too much. LaTeX sure can be weird sometimes though. I have yet to fully comprehend when {} are used vs. [] or even =. Besides compatibility though, the main advantage I find is that you can see everything that goes into the file. When I tried to use my Word 6.0 document on this computer at school, it was impossible to get it to un-indent certain paragraphs; undoubtdly due to certain commands that word felt it neccesary to hide from me.
I ended up doing it all in LaTeX. Now my nserc application is finally done.
