My dad drove me back from Newmarket to Halifax - approx. 1800 km, 16 1/2 hrs of driving, two days total. It was really cool to actually see the country between there and here. Some neat things along the way:
- lakes that looked like they were steaming
- icicles extending from highway bridges half way to the ground
- the insanity of the highway system in Montreal
- the complete and utter emptiness (of people at least) in most of NB and NS
- huge rivers
- the number of Tim Hortons in Canada :)
Nice to be back in Halifax, which I like more than ever.
