School's out....for....winter. Or something. Finished the term yesterday with a highly unsatisfying Algebra final. Does anyone else wish that we got instructor evaluations after the final? I get the feeling instructors get no feedback on how well written their final exams are.
Every football clip I download makes me realize how much I miss actually watching the game. Smith had this brilliant tackle last night which led to United's only goal. He took a shot, it came off the keeper, and he and a Fulham player raced for the ball. Smith basically flung himself forward, feet first, and wrapped his legs around the ball, and as a result, sent the Fulham player flying. It was awesome, and totally legal since he went for, and got, the ball first. He then got around another player, and sliced the ball past the keeper with the outside of his boot. Total class.
The player I think I miss watching most, though, is Ronaldo. It's one thing to see isolated clips of him. It's another to actually see it in a game - it's totally different from what anyone else on the pitch is doing. Watching the clips makes me realize how incredibly good he is at getting past defenders - he does it almost once every few minutes. This in a game where almost no one ever gets past defenders one on one. Still, though, this season as in the beginning of the last one, he more often than not is inaccurate with his cross or shot. He probably just needs a break like he had last year around Christmas - he came back and was basically man of the match every single game from there on.
