Check out this phone call I got this afternoon:

Me: Hello?
Guy: Hi, I'm from association X, mumble, mumble, mumble...
Me: Sorry?
Guy: But you're not interested in what I have to say.
Me: What?
Guy: Bye.
Me: Uh.....

That was the exact phrase he used: "You're not interested in what I have to say". Weird.

Great game from United today. From a defensive standpoint, they are playing superbly - seven clean sheets in a row. Not many goals lately, but that happens when you have every one of your five strikers out at some point over the past month :) The goal today was from Rooney. He really has an interesting goalscoring record. Eight goals for United now, and pretty much every one has been in a "big game". His debut Champion's League hat-trick, his won penalty and goal against Arsenal, a brace against Newcastle, and now scoring at Anfield. (I can't remember where his 8th goal was). Frustratingly though, he seems to do little in league games against boring lowly opponents like Crystal Palace or Fulham. After his second against Newcastle, the commentator said something like "these were the games he was born to influence". Great, but I wished he scored in other games too....

I was talking to someone at Dal yesterday about her pre-natal classes. It seems that rather than spend money on fancy equipment, the centre she goes to gives all of the students: free dinner, free groceries and free baby clothes. She doesn't pay a cent, all this is covered by the centre which is funded by NS dept. of health. Seems like a really fascinating idea. Presumably having the mother to be healthy has a big impact on how healthy the child is, so the centre figures spending money now saves hospitals money later.
