Time to vent. If I'm writing a program, and I have (for i from 1 to 100 do) in a procedure, your compiler better damn well make that i local for that procedure and NOT ASSUME IT'S GOING TO BE USED IN THE REST OF THE PROGRAM. I just spend the last 3 or 4 hours trying to debug my CG-Suite program because of this exact problem.

Fortunately, the creator of said program/language will be here in April, so I will get to personally focus my rage on him.
