I Served Serial Joe a Slushie

Haven't updated much lately. Only two things have really happened:

Thesis

So it turns out that my great idea does work, but only in a special case. One of the assumptions I made turned out to have a bigger consequence than I thought. It's been frustrating trying to remove the assumption, since it's sort of central to what I used to solve the problem. What's even more annoying is the fact that I think my solution, with the assumption, is pretty elegant as it stands. So it's hard trying to work around it, when it worked so well.

I've now typed up a total of 27 pages! I've never written so much together in one place. I'm aiming for 40-50 pages, and I think I'll have enough once I finish typing the material I have written down right now, as well as various introductions and conclusions for sections. Feels pretty good all in all, I just wish I had a full solution to the problem.

Yay Daniel and Colin for visiting us, good times. Some highlights:

• Going to Maxwell's. 160 beers in total, with 60 on tap. Awesome selection.
• The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. Much more interesting than I thought it would be.
• Grilling Salmon on the BBQ. Can't believe I've never done this before, it tasted amazing.

The best, of course, was just drinking beer and hanging out with da homeez. Cheers.
