Twelve days since I've posted. Just been too busy, I guess. My schedule this term seems to mean I'm at the school all the time, and generally the times I have off and so short or during lunch that I'm not getting much research done.
I am enjoying TA'ing 1st year math classes. The tutorials I do are a nice bridge between one-on-one instruction and actual lecturing. I have to stand up and talk in front of a group of undergraduates, without worrying about preparing the lecture itself. One thing I've discovered is how different different groups of people can make a class. I say the same things to one group, they don't really care, I say the same to another group, and they're fully interested and asking questions. Quite strange. I suppose it's part of teaching to try and change one's lessons to accomodate the interests and abilities of the particular group one is teaching.
Went to grad student potluck last night, good times. Nice to always meet new grad students.
