Boxing Day
Is one of the days of the year I dislike the most. ``So much noise, noise, noise'' would say the Grinch. So much shopping, shopping, shopping. Enough to drive one mad. Which was why I thought it strange that when I looked outside this morning, there was very little activity. ``Oh well, everything starts later around here, people like to sleep in''. Nope. Turns out that almost every store in NS is closed on Boxing Day, even more than on Sundays. I have no idea why. Apparently the boxing day sales happen the rest of the week, but at least for today, peace and quiet reign.

I'm not sure if its still true, but at least for a long time, openning on boxing day was illegal (in ontario anyway), longer than sunday shopping anyway. So if they don't open on sundays its not too surprising they don't open on boxing day either
