I got to try out a new career today - postman. I spent a few hours dropping leaflets in people's mailboxes today, telling them where to vote, and to also, while they're at it, vote for Alan. It was good fun. A possible fallback career? I do enjoy walking....
Somehow, I don't see it happening. But I have really enjoyed my brief volunteering with Alan's campaign. It's fascinating, seeing all the effort that goes into trying to get a candidate elected. I think that's something the newspapers miss out on - coverage of individual candidates, as opposed to the usual "only the leader matters" coverage. The people that really get the party elected are the hundreds of candidates in all of Canada's ridings. They sure do a lot of work, too.
