Haven't posted in a while. I've gotten about 1532623632 pieces of advice relating to how to deal with this whole fine thing. Apparently lots of people think I should go to court to contest it, especially as there wasn't a sign on the sign I entered from. I don't know - I probably should, but it just makes me feel so sleazy to protest something which I knew was wrong.

What else? I've been having lots of fun thinking about multiplying and dividing by 0 and infinity. Sounds wacky, but I think there's actually some ways with adjunctions to make it all coherent. Now to see if it has any bearing on the real world...

Something interesting media: I've been (slowly) re-reading Anna Karenina in a new translation, which is far better than the one I was previously reading. A good example is on the first page - in my old translation, Oblonsky was referred to as having an "intrigue" with his governess, which I think twelve years ago I failed to understand meant "affair". I mean, who says "intrigue"?? Anyways, I'm quite enjoying it; it's an extraordinarily well-crafted work. Tolstoy is quite adept at moving between different character's points of view, and manages to show many different facets of the different relationships between the characters.

Watched The Battle of Algiers, something I've been meaning to see for quite a while. It's an interesting look at the different sides in a revolution/terrorist situation. Quite interesting parallels to today. Check it out, if you get a chance.

And finally, props to Colin for the mad law skillz in the comments below! Rock on!
