New Office, New Term

Since M and I's office-mates left, we have switched desks and taken over their (functioning much better than our old) computers. It's strange, because it feels like a whole new office. I have a strange new perspective sitting in the corner here. Somehow it feels more official - perhaps because I cleared away most of the old junk first, unlike at my previous desk where I left it sitting there.

Many people we know are leaving this week or next - it's a strange time. A lot of people I used to see and talk to on a daily basis will no longer be around. I suppose that's the life of a graduate student - everything feels as if it is flux around you.

However, the approaching new term seems to have invigorated me a bit mentally - looking through my old notes makes me realize how much stuff there is to investigate, how much more to learn! And as much as I complain about the campus getting over-crowded by all the new frosh, their enthusiasm is always infectious, which is almost always a good thing.
