Manufactured Landscapes

Is not so much a movie or documentary as it is a trip to an art gallery. Lots of pictures, some interesting, some dull, but a generally enlightening experience. However, one thing I wanted to mention from this film was a few scenes centred around the Three Gorges Dam in China. It's a huge project, the largest dam in the world. The astonishing part, however, was not the dam itself but the relocation of the people whose cities will be flooded. Over a million people have to move. The amazing thing, however, was seeing these people actually physically tearing apart their cities so that when the area flooded, it would be safe for ships to go through. Seeing the people take apart their own homes, their workplaces, everything around them - unbelievable.
