So, we applied for an apartment. It's great - excellent location, nice rooms, lots of windows, open kitchen, and only $730/month! (Our current rent is $855). Unfortunately, there were two other people applying just while we filled out our application, and the super said that more were coming to look at it tomorrow. Which means there is a very good chance we will not get it :(
I've never had this experience before. Whenever I've looked for an apartment, the hard part was finding something I liked - once that was accomplished, the actual application part was straightforward. Now there's this great place, but we very well may not get it. Very frustrating.

On the other hand, woohoo!!!! United win the title!!! These last few seasons have been heartbreaking - first, the brilliant unbeaten season by Arsenal, then the two years of watching Chelsea grind out 1-0 wins while United would draw or lose important games. This season, the vast majority of United's Premiership game were brilliant. This was why I started supporting United in the first place - incisive, quick, brilliant attacking football from start to finish. Along with some stunning come from behind wins. Pity about the champion's league, and there's still the FA cup to come, but the premier league title was the really important one.
Edit! Check out this classy article (one amongst many others penned at the beginning of the season) writing off Ferguson and United. How many more times will Ferguson have to prove himself?

Finally, M found my Japan notes, so I'll probably type up some more stuff soon.
