It's a game about Cake
With the below-mentioned Team Fortress 2, one also gets Portal (and Half 2, Episode 1 and 2). It unlocked this morning, so before I went to school I played about half - them finished the other half when I got back from school.
The concept is quite neat - you have a tool which allows you to create short-range portals - put one end in the ceiling above, the other in the floor below, and you can fall forever. Actually doing it can be quite disorienting - being thrown from a wall because of your vertical momentum from where you fell into a portal never gets old.
The puzzles themselves are very, very good - just hard enough that they require thought, but never hard enough to be frustrating. But it is the story of the game that I found the most compelling - I simply could not stop playing (bar school, that is) until I found out what happened. I'd reckon it was probably the best "short" (about 3 hours in total) game I've ever played. Also, it contains a recipe for cake, which, remarkably, made sense in the context :)
